Renault — Both E-Tech Hybrids and the Vans Half of Europe Drives
Renault is interesting precisely for the combination. On one side is a full E-Tech hybrid, fitted to the Clio, Captur, Arkana and Austral. On the other are the Master and Trafic vans, which became the basis for a whole range of other marques' commercial vehicles: the Nissan Interstar and Opel Movano are built on the Master platform, the Nissan Primastar on the Trafic, and the Kangoo underpins the Mercedes Citan and the Nissan Townstar.
For us this is convenient: knowing the Renault platform helps us service several marques at once, and our hybrid expertise makes E-Tech our field.
The E-Tech Hybrid — an Unusual Gearbox Without a Clutch
E-Tech is built differently from most hybrids. In it a petrol engine and two electric motors are linked through a multi-mode gearbox without a conventional clutch — shifts happen through dog clutches, and the car always pulls away on electric drive. The solution is original and efficient, but it needs understanding at diagnosis: attention shifts to the electric motors, the power electronics, the traction battery and the multi-mode gearbox itself.
As a garage with hybrid expertise, we diagnose E-Tech by this very logic, not by the template of an ordinary hybrid. This applies both to the self-charging versions and to the E-Tech plug-in hybrids.
Renault Van Service and Repair — Master, Trafic, Kangoo
Commercial Renaults are one of our key directions, since the Master and Trafic carry loads across Silesia. We service the Master, Trafic, Kangoo and Express, as well as the electric versions. A lift with an 8-tonne capacity lets us take a loaded or heavy van — something not every garage can do.
Knowing this platform is a plus for us: the same components appear on the related Nissan, Opel and Mercedes models, so the repair is predictable and parts are available. For vans we carry out scheduled servicing, chassis and brake repairs under load, diesel work, diagnostics, bodywork and respraying. For companies and fleets we can agree on scheduled servicing.
TCe Engines, the dCi Diesel and the EDC Gearbox
A Renault has petrol TCe (1.0, 1.3) and the durable 1.5 dCi diesel, familiar to us from the group's other marques too. On the current diesels we monitor the emissions system (DPF, EGR), on the turbo engines the belt's condition and the cooling. A separate topic is the EDC robotised gearbox (a preselective robot): it needs attention to the mechatronics and the clutch, and at the first sign of jerks we run diagnostics without delay.
Electric Renaults — Zoe, Megane E-Tech, Scenic
Renault was one of the first to bring a mass-market electric car, the Zoe, to market, and today it offers the Megane E-Tech Electric, Scenic E-Tech and the electric Kangoo. This is technology with a traction battery, power electronics and a charging system. We confidently diagnose the high-voltage section and handle brakes, suspension, bodywork and electrics. The scope of work on the traction battery is determined after diagnostics. For model specifications and technical data, see the official Renault website.
