Genesis — Premium on Hyundai Engineering, and That Pays Off
Genesis positions itself as a premium marque, but technically it is built on Hyundai-Kia group platforms and components: the same engines, gearboxes, electronics, and the electric cars on the E-GMP architecture. For the owner this is doubly beneficial: a premium level of comfort and equipment plus parts availability and a predictable repair without a surcharge for the badge.
That is exactly why, after the warranty, a Genesis is especially worth servicing at an independent garage that knows the Hyundai platform. We know it across several marques at once, so diagnostics and repair follow a clear logic.
Electric Genesis — Electrified G80, GV70, GV60
Genesis is electrifying actively: the Electrified G80 and Electrified GV70 are the electric versions of the saloon and the SUV, and the GV60 is built on the E-GMP platform with a fast charging architecture. This is technology with a traction battery, power electronics and a charging system. As a garage with hybrid and electric expertise, we confidently diagnose the high-voltage section and handle brakes, suspension and bodywork. The scope of work on the traction battery is determined after diagnostics. If you have an electric Genesis, that falls squarely within our field.
What Matters in Servicing a Genesis
On the petrol Genesis models (turbo engines, including the V6 T-GDi) and the diesel versions, the condition of the engine, the cooling system and, on diesels, the DPF and EGR deserve attention. The higher models have air suspension, which over time needs attention to the air struts and the compressor. A separate topic is the abundance of electronics: many jobs need not just replacing a part but also correct adaptation or coding after the repair. We run diagnostics with an understanding of the Hyundai platform and carry out the necessary adaptations.
