Leapmotor — EVs backed by Stellantis
Leapmotor is distributed in Europe through a joint venture with the Stellantis group, and that's a practical advantage: the parts network and logistics lean on the infrastructure of a large group, which matters for a new brand. The line-up includes the affordable city-sized T03 EV and the family-oriented C10 crossover.
EV specialism is the foundation of our workshop, so Leapmotor falls within our specialism. We handle the mechanical side (suspension, brakes, tyres, bodywork) in full, and we diagnose the high-voltage side properly.
The C10 REEV — an EV with a generator
The most technically interesting version is the C10 REEV. This is a range-extended EV: the wheels are always driven by the electric motor, while a small petrol engine works purely as a generator that recharges the battery and has no direct connection to the wheels. In logic terms, this is close to a series hybrid, but with the emphasis on electric drive.
For a workshop, this means working with the traction battery, power electronics, the generator unit, and the charging system. We diagnose the REEV exactly according to this logic, rather than treating it like a conventional hybrid or a pure EV.
What matters when servicing a Leapmotor
On the electric T03 and C10, attention shifts to the traction battery, power electronics, and charging system. As with other EVs, the conventional brakes are used rarely because of regenerative braking and tend to seize up, so they need periodic servicing, while the tyres wear faster and need attention to wheel alignment. On the REEV version, servicing the petrol generator is added to the mix. We handle all of this properly.
