What makes Subaru unique — boxer engine and Symmetrical AWD
Most Subarus have two signature features. The boxer engine — horizontally opposed cylinders, gives a low centre of gravity and smoothness, but has its own oil monitoring requirements. Symmetrical AWD — permanent, not on-demand. This is why Subaru has a different drivetrain and tyre care logic.
AWD — why identical tyres and a healthy CVT matter
Because the AWD is permanent and symmetrical, all four wheels are rigidly linked. Mismatched tyre diameters load the differential and CVT.

Boxer engine — oil consumption
Some Subaru boxers (FB and EJ series) have elevated oil consumption — a design trait, not always a fault. But oil levels need closer monitoring than in a typical inline engine. We check level, leaks, and real consumption.
e-Boxer — Subaru's mild hybrid
Forester e-Boxer, XV/Crosstrek e-Boxer use a mild hybrid system: a small electric motor assists the boxer. Not a full hybrid — can't run on electricity alone — but adds smoothness and efficiency. We diagnose the battery, electric motor, and power electronics.
