Suzuki — Simple Cars, but With Their Own Nuances
The main strength of a Suzuki is well-thought-out simplicity. A light body, proven K-series petrol engines and cheap consumables all make the marque economical to keep. But "simple" does not mean "needs no attention": timely servicing, checking the suspension on light cars (which often run over city potholes) and careful electrical work noticeably extend their life. On older 1.6 DDiS diesels the typical diesel topics come up — the DPF and EGR — which we also diagnose and service.
The SHVS Mild Hybrid — What It Is and How to Service It
Some models (Swift, Vitara, S-Cross, Ignis) have the SHVS system — a mild hybrid. It is an integrated starter-generator with a small battery: it assists the engine under acceleration, provides a smooth stop-start and slightly lowers fuel use. Such a car will not drive on electricity alone. The system is simple and trouble-free in service, but we check its operation — the generator, the battery and the belt — during diagnostics. As a garage with hybrid expertise, we know it in detail.
Suzuki on a Toyota Platform — Across and Swace
A separate and welcome topic for us. The Suzuki Across is, in essence, a Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, and the Suzuki Swace a Toyota Corolla Touring Sports Hybrid, sold under the Suzuki badge. So under the bonnet they have a full Toyota hybrid, which is squarely our speciality.
We service such cars on the same logic as the hybrid Toyotas: high-voltage battery diagnostics, the inverter cooling circuit, the eCVT transmission, regenerative braking. If you have an Across or a Swace, you have come to the right place — it is our core field.
Jimny — an Honest Off-Roader With Its Own Rules
The Jimny stands apart: it is not a "soft-roader" but a genuine off-road vehicle with a ladder frame, low-range gearing and live axles. This design is reliable and easy to repair, but real off-road use loads the suspension, the axles and the underbody harder than on an ordinary city car.
On a Jimny we pay attention to the condition of the frame and the underbody (especially if the car is driven off-road), to the suspension and the axles, and to the sealing of components after mud and fords. After heavy off-road use a preventive inspection is worthwhile, to catch wear in good time. For model specifications and technical data, see the official Suzuki website.
