What an independent workshop can do for a Tesla
An electric car has fewer components than an internal combustion engine, but it still has its own mechanical and electrical parts that wear and need servicing. For Teslas we handle: suspension, brake, and steering repair and maintenance; wheel alignment; tyre fitting and selection; 12V battery replacement; air conditioning and cabin filter servicing; bodywork and paint repairs; and high-voltage diagnostics in safe mode.
What we don't do is work tied to Tesla's proprietary software and the manufacturer's warranty procedures. Here we're upfront and point you to the official network. Tesla brakes and tyres — why they need attention
Two components on a Tesla wear differently than expected. Because of regenerative braking, the conventional brakes are used rarely, which has a downside: brake discs and calipers tend to seize up and corrode from inactivity, especially in damp climates. That means Tesla's brake system needs periodic servicing — cleaning and lubricating the mechanisms, checking condition — even when the pads are barely worn.
Tyres, by contrast, wear faster than average: the car's high mass and the electric motor's instant torque put extra strain on the rubber. Timely tyre fitting, correct pressure, and regular wheel alignment all help here. We pay particular attention to these components.
Model 3 and Model Y suspension — known points
On the Model 3 and Model Y, higher mileage brings wear to suspension components — control arms, bushings, struts. This is ordinary mechanical work that we repair properly, using good-quality parts. After any suspension work we always do a wheel alignment, because on a heavy EV the geometry directly affects both handling and the wear of expensive tyres. If you notice unusual noises or the steering pulling to one side, it's worth getting the suspension diagnosed without delay.
